Green playground

Making the school environment greener and reducing hard surfaces is trending; most of us agree that this evolution is positive in many areas. It provides children with a pleasant and stimulating environment to play and discover themselves. Sometimes, a "green playground" can eventually turn into an uncontrollable mud pit.

Our fairly simple proposal is financially feasible and relatively low-maintenance. The basis is an area with plantings and a layer of tree bark. In between, we use playground furniture and small-scale play equipment made from recycled plastic combined with stainless steel. The beige and brown tones used fit well in a green environment. From the low-maintenance & sustainable material use it has been well proven that it remains in attractive condition for at least 25 to 30 years.

With this fairly simple concept, maintenance is limited to occasionally replenishing the bark and doing some pruning. No issues with wood rot or maintenance with expensive stains. Less maintenance work translates into a lower maintenance budget in the future. Installation can easily be done in-house, saving budget as well. The setup can also be done in phases as budget becomes available. A manageable green playground becomes much more achievable.
